GROUND OF CHAOS is a band from Medellín that has gained great recognition in both the Colombian and international scenes, thanks to a mature and original sound that wields the axes of deathcore, infused with technical precision, melody, and aggression.
With origins dating back to 2016, the band is driven by a relentless determination to take their music to the next level. Under this premise, they released their self-titled debut EP in 2016 and their first album, Sic Mundus Creatus Est, in 2020. Their compositions have led them to share the stage with various artists, such as GAEREA from Portugal, ARCADIA LIBRE from Mexico, INTERNAL FREQUENCIES from Mexico, and BILLY THE KID from Costa Rica. Today, GROUND OF CHAOS further asserts its prominence by presenting Serpent’s Gen, the first preview of their upcoming EP, available on all streaming platforms and accompanied by an official video recorded at Ciudad Altavoz 2022.
The song explores the theme of the serpent’s gene—the lineage of Cain, son of Eve and the serpent—a bloodline thirsty for knowledge and truth, blamed for all of humanity’s decadence.
The production, mixing, and mastering were handled by Moises D’ Bello, a Latin American producer based in Argentina. His credits include work with artists such as Félix Martin, Ichika Nito, Daniel Tompkins, McKlopedia, James Agudelo, and Charlie Parra del Riego. He is also the CEO of Chango Studios and has worked as a product developer and programmer for renowned figures like Cameron Pierce Mizell (USA), Jens Bogren (Sweden), Jacob Hansen (Denmark), Brendan Dekora (USA), and Lanc Prenc (Australia), among other international and local scene artists and producers.
The song references the serpent’s gene—the lineage of Cain, son of Eve and the serpent—a bloodline thirsty for knowledge and truth, blamed for all of humanity’s decadence.
Humanity’s curiosity has existed for eons…
A restless, insatiable curiosity that has allowed us to reach what once seemed impossible.
We have been blamed and condemned for desperately seeking knowledge, longing to fill our minds with wisdom and understanding.
Such was our thirst for knowledge that we were cast out of paradise.
But could we truly remain blind forever?
The truth set us free.
It made us heirs of the serpent’s gene.
