Origin & Formation

The origins of Ground of Chaos date back to late 2015, when Sergio (drummer), Santiago, and Jonny (guitarists) began shaping a new project after their previous band dissolved. Jonny, who had already composed several songs, decided to reinterpret them alongside his bandmates to give them a distinctive touch and establish a unique identity.

It was Sergio who proposed the name Ground of Chaos, inspired by the idea of a world engulfed in chaos—perfectly reflecting the dark and raw themes the band would explore in both their lyrics and sound. Santiago, on the other hand, played a key role in refining the final musical details, complementing Jonny and Sergio’s songwriting with his contributions on guitar.

After defining the concept and tracks for their debut EP, the band set out to find a vocalist. That’s when they discovered Leonardo, who had been posting deathcore covers on YouTube. With a strong presence in the local scene—having been part of bands like Resisting Pain and Breathe For Tomorrow—Leonardo immediately connected with the project. He quickly began working on the lyrics, leading the band to enter the studio to record their first release.

Evolution & Members

Evolution & Members

Over the years, the band has undergone lineup changes, but its essence has remained intact. Initially without a bassist, Juan José Ramírez joined in 2018, followed by Tomás Pérez, and finally, in 2021, Juan Esteban Ramírez took on the role permanently.

The drums also saw transitions, with Sergio being absent during certain periods and temporarily replaced by David García Yepes until his return in 2021. Since then, Sergio not only resumed his role as drummer but also became a key figure in the band, taking on responsibilities in communication, branding, graphic design, and art direction.

Meanwhile, Jonny and Santiago have focused on songwriting, with Juan Esteban contributing to production and arrangements. This balance has allowed Ground of Chaos to achieve the stability it had always sought.
